hi,i have got a eml rank of 3458 in iitjee 2009.can i get admission in any of the iits in bsc course.
i also read about a second round of counselling that is going to start frm this yr. in the newspapers.could you throw some light on it.it is not very clear.
and what r the prospects if i get inti iist or iiser.

My EML rank in ST category is 230. I would like to know that can I join preparatory course available for ST candidates. I believe that I have qualified for that as the cut off for preparatory course is 50% from the agg. marks scored by the last candidate in ST category whereas EML relaxation is not that much. So, please clear my doubt………….

to apply for iist means u r going to a specific field with limited scope if u realy think u have interest in aeronautics then u try otherwise its etter to go for nit’s or iiit”s
upto which max rank can we expect to get into iiser. i am very much interested in research field . . .i am in eml. .
the eml ranks a mere waste of time,
last year the iist was filled up by 5800 air of iitjee merit list student,
so better time to look up for other options..
u can get admission in iiser upto max eml ranks of 3 to 4 thousand

I am getting a 3500 rank in JEE2009. my options are:-
1.Comp.sc. in IIT Mandi(probably coz odr new IITs finish before it)
2. Geology M.sc. in IITKgp
3.geology MTech in IIT Roorkee
4.b.Des. in IIT Guwahati
5.Comp.Sc. in Manipal
6.BITS:-yet to b given but i dnt think i will score well coz i dnt remmbr anything abt my sylabus now.. so little chance of a good seat dere
well, my intrests among dese in d order of prefernce are Comp.Sc, Geology and design.. but d b.des. program on d whole looks very very xciting.. Geology z smthing i m quite intrsted in too and would love 2 do it. wat do u suggest??? wat shud i do?? and in geology too, shud it b Mtech in Roorkee or Msc in Kgp??? and if i take up comp.sc. in Mandi, i wnt get gr8 infrastructure/facilities/campus lyf but i would get my first choice subject… is it a good option to leave an old IIT 4 it??

i have got a rank 7869 in iit-2009 can i expect any branch in iit as seats have increased and there is a 2nd round of councelling,

This is for all SC/ST candidates who have made it to IIT JEE 2009 EML……I too have a rank in the same and I dont think we have any chances of making it to the Prep Courses coz the list has already been prepared and I guess we EML people dont have our names in it…….Darn it!

according to you..u got eml..in sc/st categor……..and u have not got preparator rank………is this means that eml rank is too below thn preparator course rank??

for SC

becs eml is not given to SC!
and becz this year 60000 ranki r published so.may be.. SC students given more relazaion…and after admiting 1.4 times SC students for preparatory seat. authority given below rankers..eml so that they get admission in toher collg!!

This year 1,100 reserved category seats are vacant in IIT according to Times Of India front page news…….all hail reserved category students!!!!!!!!These will be filled by students who have made it to the preparatory course!!!!!!!!
